A larger life …

A man who limits his interests, limits his life. (Vincent Price)

One of the saddest things I have heard was a widow saying “we were going to travel … when we retired”. Why do we put off doing the things we really care about? Isn’t now the time to explore something new?
  • Make a list of all the things you wanted to be when you were twelve.
  • Which one do you still fancy? Make a date with yourself to start.
  • Now look forward. What would you like to know, or have done, by your next age milestone?
  • When did you last say “I wish I knew more about ….”?
  • Where and how could you feed your curiosity?

It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and just keep on doing the same old things. Develop the breadth of your experience, as well as its depth. Start something new this summer …

This week Kathy had a week with no long journeys – absolute bliss - and, to join the challenge of doing something new, entered some of her work for two poetry competitions.
